There’s so much talent on this site it was hard to decide which examples to post. Fighting the temptation to add them all here’s are a couple that really caught my eye:

… from Ms Fiona Woodcock

Finally touting her wares online with a lovely simple site, jam packed with goodness.

Why not have a look?

3 months residency at The National Workshops for Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen, with your own studio, your own flat… *sigh*
If you’re young (and indeed talented) go here

Now these are something I’d like to see around Old Street!

I love the neon quality of light sculpture. I also love the process, the idea of not knowing how something is going to turn out until you see it through the lens of a camera. Julien Breton’s work is an amazing example of the possibilities the format has to offer!

Uncle Montague's Tales of Terror

…and not just another Harry Potter style adult/child tie-in thing to be read by bored execs on trains.

This has got some genuinely creepy bits in:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Uncle-Montagues-Tales-Terror-Priestley/dp/0747589224/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234869057&sr=8-1

And, shockingly, some swears. So it’s definitely not for children.

Nice Edward Gorey-esque art/humour in there.

Tony Hart – Sadly missed

Very sad to learn that a man who influenced so many of us passed away yesterday. Much respect to a master who dedicated so much time to passing on his love of all forms of art.

Some nice tributes here…

Sir! The Piranhas are eating all the guests!

This link is courtesy of Andy H but it’s so good I had to share. A fantastic collection of horror movie posters of the illustrated variety. Maybe I’m getting old but I’m convinced these create a far greater sense of foreboding than your Saw IV’s and Hostels of this world.

I’m particularily pleased that one of my favourite (due to it’s utterly rubbish nature) horror films is included, the mildly terrifying Piranha!

Russian Fruit Doll thingies

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Some lovely work from Julie West here – kind of like what would happen if you accidentally left some Russian Dolls and a big bag of fruit in one of those dysfunctional teleporters in The Fly. All be it with a far cuter result… assuming they don’t vomit acid that is.

Courtesy of those fine purveyors of designer toys over at My Plastic Heart.
