Sir! The Piranhas are eating all the guests!

January 7th, 2009 by Neil K

This link is courtesy of Andy H but it’s so good I had to share. A fantastic collection of horror movie posters of the illustrated variety. Maybe I’m getting old but I’m convinced these create a far greater sense of foreboding than your Saw IV’s and Hostels of this world.

I’m particularily pleased that one of my favourite (due to it’s utterly rubbish nature) horror films is included, the mildly terrifying Piranha!

Matt Stuart Snaps Legs

Whilst doing research for one of our latest projects I came across the portfolio site of street photographer Matt Stuart. He must have the patience of a saint, his work is brilliant!

For more street photography take a look at iN-PUBLiC as well as Matt the site features several good photographers, my favourites are Richard Bram, Narelle Autio, Melanie Einzig and David Gibson.

Oliver Postgate

December 10th, 2008 by Andy H

Yesterday was tinged with sadness for me… The morning news told me that Oliver Postgate had sadly passed away.

Postgate was a hero of mine, not only for the beautiful and wonderous shows he created, but… well… because he followed his own path. The clangers, his reaction to a request to create a series based on the recent moon landings being case in point.

Very sad day indeed.

There are some rather touching comments here:

Really love this, particularly the modular way everything comes together. Great skills.

Barts Children’s Hospital

November 7th, 2008 by Neil K

As we’re quite there yet with our new site, which is coming very soon indeed (honest), I’d thought I’d post one of our most recently completed projects - Barts Children’s Hopital.

Barts Screen

Going to Hospital can be a scary experience for children, plus it’s an intimidating environment for them to ask questions about what is going to be happening.

Working with film makers Bold Creative we created a new website for the trust that aims to address this. Bold made a series of short films featuring real kids and their experiences visiting  Barts ranging from having an Xray or an Injection to staying overnight. These were then packaged up into a friendly and easy to navigate site.

A worthwile project and one we had lots of fun with. Props to Michelle and Andy for the graft!

I want one

Sigma DP-1

I don’t NEED one, just want…

This little beauty has the same sensor as the Sigma DSLR, the same high resolution, yet is instantly pocketable.

oh… and it looks cool, hadn’t… umm… noticed that…

The site is quite nice too, although you may want to skip the intro…

Wish you were here!

iWood

Unfortunately engraveyourbook.com is no longer available dam you harmful gasses! On the up side their creators are now turning their hand to other products like these rather lovely iWood cases for anyone lucky enough to have an iPhone:

Engraved iWood rear

Engraved iWood front

Nice, but still not as nice as the Moleskines, I would say that I don’t have an iPhone

As I’m the only one participating in this weeks fungi fun and in case there’s any doubts as to the mushrooms claimed this week…

It was so tempting to cheat but there’s no point I’m winning anyway

The mushroom stakes at the moment:

Me: 7

Andy: 6

Neil: 4

Nick: 0 - he’s been elsewhere so technically it doesn’t count.
